REGARDING BOOKINGS

I would like to book a table of 10+ people for The Good Room or The Kitchen?

Because we are a cosy 50 seat dining room our availability for group booking is limited. We can accommodate up to 16 guests as one party but we ask that you contact us via email to confirm availability and the Set Menu.

What is the difference between The Kitchen and The Good Room?

The Kitchen is our casual eats area for souvlaki, salads, chips and Greek classics.  It is dine in or take away. Group menu is the Taverna menu $59pp.

The Good Room is our restaurant offering a modern Greek menu. No take away is offered.  Dine in only. Group menu is the Mazi menu $85pp.

Bookings are preferred but we welcome walk-ins if there is availability.

Book via the MAKE A RESERVATION button and peruse the sample menus on THE KITCHEN and THE GOOD ROOM page on this website

You seem to always be fully booked in The Good Room?

We are a cosy 50 seat dining room, hence it fills up pretty quickly.  When you book online, the system will give you the next available date and time for the amount of guests you are wishing to book for.  If you are not happy with the future date, you can always add yourself to the Standby List online, call us or email us at enquiries@thehellenichouseproject.com.au

I can’t add myself to a Standby List online?

This is because we have exceeded the amount of guests already on our standby list.  This means that the standby list is already too long and we won’t be able to accommodate your request this time. Please select an alternative date.

What is your booking policy?

We will require your credit card details to secure your booking with no charge prior to your visit.

We understand that plans change and sometimes illnesses can occur. If you need to change or cancel your reservation please click the link in your email or email us at enquiries@thehellenichouseproject.com.au 24 hours before your reservation time to avoid an automatic cancellation charge of $50 per person. Please understand that there is reasoning for this; it takes more than 24 hours to replace your booking and organise our team members, food and beverage.

A 15% surcharge applies on Sundays and Public Holidays to the total bill.

One of our guests can’t make our booking - we were a 4 and now we are a 3?

If one or more of your guests cannot make your reservation time, we expect a courtesy call or email prior to your arrival to notify us of the change and avoid the automatic cancellation fee.

Call us on 03 9531 8855 or email us on enquiries@thehellenichouseproject.com.au

Can I be late for my booking?

Unfortunately no. Your booking will be kept for 15 mins after your booking time. If you are running late you should phone the restaurant on 03 9531 8855 to let us know.  If you are seated in the earlier seating from 5pm – 6.30pm, it will be likely that we have guests booked on your table for our later seating from 8pm onwards, therefore running late will impede on your experience.

Can we arrive early for our reservation and have a drink at the bar?

Unfortunately no.  We are a cosy 50 seat restaurant and on our cooler months and days it is a little difficult to wait. There is a cool bar across the road called Hawker Bar that you can have a drink prior to your booking. But on warmer days and months you are more than welcome to have a drink on our Balcony or in our Backyard if you are early and we have availability.

We have a booking in ‘The Good Room’ for 8 guests but 4 of the 8 guests are children, do we all have to have the Menu Mazi?

Yes. All adults are required to dine on a full Menu Mazi $85pp. Children under the age of 12 will be required to dine on our Kids Menu $40pp. These set menus do not include any beverage.

Menu Mazi price will vary for Sunday or Public Holidays bookings and in the month of December.

REGARDING ALL THINGS KIDS

Can I bring a pram into The Good Room?

The Good Room is a cosy dining room of 50 seats, with approximately 20 stairs leading up into the room.  You are most welcome to leave your pram downstairs in our undercroft whilst you dine with us, as our dining room can not accommodate prams due to the size of the room.

Do you have high-chairs?

We have booster chairs, not high-chairs. We only have a couple available per seating, so please be sure to mention this in your online booking notes.

I have made a booking for 5 people and in the notes I have added ‘please add a booster seat’?

No problems we can arrange the booster, but we need to increase your booking to 6 guests as little people need a chair too.  So when you are booking please make sure that you include all your guests, including those in a booster.

Do you have a kids menu?

The Good Room – We like children to explore something they may not have tried before.  However, there are items on our menu that suits most kids. Our Kids Menu is specifically created for children of 12 years and under.

The Kitchen – Yes.  There are many items on the menu that are child friendly.

Do kids have to dine on Menu Mazi if they are one of a group of 6 or more?

Yes. We consider children part of the table of 6 and are required to dine on our Kids Menu Mazi.

REGARDING ACCESS

I have a family member in a wheelchair or unable to climb the stairs to ‘The Good Room’?

Due to the layout of our home, The Good Room does not have easy accessibility for people in wheelchairs or other conditions unable to climb stairs.  If you would really love to dine in The Good Room, we are happy to create a ‘Chef’s Table’ on the ground floor for those looking for this option.  Please email us at enquiries@thehellenichousproject.com.au

Do you have wheelchair access in ‘The Kitchen’?

Yes, ‘The Kitchen’ does have wheelchair access.
